Irrigation Technician – Installation and Maintenance

Position Summary

Education

Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Experience

1 year to less than 2 years in greenhouse industry

On The Road

Work locations may vary. Frequent or constant travel is required from the employee.

Hours & Compensation 

Compensation: $23.00–$25.00 per hour
Hours: 32–48 hours per week

Responsibilities – Tasks

  • Read and understand blueprints or work order specifications, normally in English but occasionally in Dutch from engineering firms in the Netherlands, to determine layout and installation procedures.
  • Assist project leadership on-site through effective and efficient supervision of small and large crews.
  • Installation and welding of different membranes on large scale projects in rural sites.
  • Water storage tank inspections.
  • Assist with purchasing of irrigation materials and equipment from Dutch suppliers.
  • Project administration in office as required.

Credentials – Certificates, Licences, Memberships & Courses

  • Welding Certificate for PP, PE, and PVC membranes
  • Working at Heights training
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
  • Confined Spaces training

Experience and Specialization – Welding Techniques

  • Welding plastic

Transportation / Travel Information

  • Willing to travel
